Eddy Merckx

The 1967 World Road Race Championship was held in Heerlen, Netherlands. The race presented 265.2 km over 20 laps of a 13.26 km circuit.

Young Belgian Eddy Merckx, winner of the 1967 Milan-San Remo, Gent-Wevelgem and Fleche Wallonne, sprinted past 1964 World Champion Jan Janssen to win his first World Champion Road Race.
